VALORANT Omen Smokes on Split - Best Smokes and Strategies
Omen stands an important position in the VALORANT agent pool being one of the most consistent picks across all maps.
Playing a controller agent is rather simple, but there are certain tips and setups that can elevate your gameplay to the next level. Following this Omen guide will turn you into a nightmare for any enemy you’re up against!
Setups - Attack
It’s universally known that Split is much harder on the Attacking side than on the defensive one. You would normally not have fun attacking on Split, simply due to how tight and compact the map is giving defenders the upper hand on you. However, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to attack but you will need proper setups as a smoker to effectively execute.
We will show you the best Omen Smokes & Setups on Split.
A Site Execute
When you’re attacking A site you need to have your goal set. There are different ways to approach it and not all of them might work depending on the playstyle of the defenders. For this setup you’re planning to take full site without rafters, so you smoke early peekers and heaven as you blind anyone on site for your duelist. Now it is preferable that you have a replacement for a CT smoke such as Sage wall or temporarily smoke it with jett just so you enter.
A Split
Another way to push A is by smoking traditionally but playing for Rafters control. Here in sewers you have the option to blind with omen and your duelist can dash follow up to catch any defender playing there off guard. After that, proceed to site and maintain heaven control.
B Fast
Now onto the B site, you will need to smoke Heaven and CT. If you don’t have a sage to wall off the right side as you enter, make sure you Blind that so your team can comfortably clear their angles.
B Post Plant
If you want to play for a postplant position, you can just smoke CT and the right side for a fast entrance and have your jett use their smokes to plant and quickly come back. With this strat, you also have a blind to work with when the spike is tapped but beware of getting smokes off, it’s better off to set a late lurk on mid playing like this.
Mid To A
The easiest way to take a safe route from Mid To A is by fast executing it with the utility shown. The challenge comes into fighting Heaven players on B too, so beware of that.
Mid To B
Attacking Mid To B is relatively easier, just smoke vents and Heaven and run down. Make sure you still use your paranoia depending on sounds, for under or when you drop on site to ensure you’re not getting caught off guard by a defender. Also clear B main as it’s likely occupied by somebody by that time.
Setups - Defense
Split’s defense is often the advantageous side. That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy, especially against players who know how to attack. For this, as a smoker you play a huge role in shifting the result. Here are the best setups you can use to effectively defend on split:
Mid Aggressive
The most pressured Area of the map is Mid. if you’re playing to face fire with fire, this is the ideal way where you run over after smoking the peekers and blind sewers for safety. It’s a risky play but if you favor aggression, this is for you.
Mid Passive
If you rather play slow and more passive/safe, this is a good smoke. It’s the most simple and most effective.
B Aggressive
You can as well play aggressively on B just like so
B Passive
Or play safer and hold it more passively with the traditional smoke
A Early Hold
Place this smoke if you’re willing to defend A early on and not give any control or space to the attackers
A Default
If you’re playing for site and rafters only, pose like this and wait for them to push out of the smoke then blind and peek. Easiest way to defend site.
