Killjoy Setups - Attacking Side

While Killjoy is often associated with defensive playstyles, she can also be a valuable asset for the attacking team on this map. With her unique abilities, Killjoy can help control areas of the map and create opportunities for her team to push towards the enemy's territory. Especially when it comes to lurking which is commonly known as “rat gameplay” but yet one of the most effective ways to manipulate your attacking side. We will show you the best ways you can use Killjoy on Icebox Attack:

When we are talking about Killjoy on the attacking side, we’re most likely referring to a way you can “lurk” and manipulate the outcome of the round as a sentinel. Now there are two ways to lurk, you can either fast lurk which is to instantly push after your teammates make a presence in the planned site, or late lurk which is when you wait to ensure no enemies are holding you.

Icebox is very mid-oriented meaning all of your lurks will have to initiate from mid. In this setup, you’ll follow the route as shown to get to CT screens and flank the enemies.

Start by placing your turret on top of the box to cover your B flank.

Secondly, place an alarm bot under tube to cover for any rotations coming towards you.

Thirdly, when you get to site and earn some kills, don’t forget to use mollies to defend spike further.

Pro Tip: You don’t need to find a pixel perfect lineup to play postplant with your mollies, killjoy mollies go through walls so all you need to do is to get it around the spike.

B Site:

Similarly, if you want to attack B you will go for the same play but here patience is key. On B, defenders often expect lurks from mid and that’s why you need to be extra cautious on when to actually push.

Place a turret on the same box looking towards A to cover up for any A push.

As you make your way place an alarm bot to cover any late rotations coming from screens

Then as usual use your grenades if stuff get tough.

Mid:

Sometimes, you wouldn’t want to push a site but rather keep mid control for your own advantage. If you are fighting mid for whatever reason this is a good way to as a killjoy.

Start by placing your alarm bot on tube entrance to make sure nobody walks down on you as you fight

Then place a turret a bit forward when you can which will cover under and boiler.

Then, use your mollies accordingly to block enemies from peeking and to isolate duels.

Killjoy Setups - Defending Side

With Killjoy’s unique kit of abilities, she is a valuable asset for any team looking to defend key areas of the map. Her skills allow her to set up traps and control areas of the map, making it difficult for the enemy team to push forward. But you can only do so much when you’re lacking knowledge as to how to place your utility right, so here are the best killjoy setups to defend your site on Icebox:

A Site:

This is hands down the best way to get free kills on A site if attackers push you.

Start by placing a turret on top of generator.

Then, place an alarm bot on A main with two mollies next to each other covering the right side of Maze. As soon as the bot ticks you can activate your mollies and enjoy the kills.

B Site:

For B site, you can play for site by obtaining Yellow control as shown. Place a turret top site with an alarm bot on yellow combined with 2 mollies right next to each other to activate as soon as attackers trigger the bot.

This will give you room to fight main without worrying about yellow.

If you’re looking to play off site and at the same time delay enemies off plant to give time to your teammates for rotations, this is a perfect setup.

Start by placing your turret on B long to have early information on the enemies if they are headed to you.

Then place an alarm bot under tube for any late lurk coming towards mid.

Then, place two mollies around default to delay plants as long as you can.

Killjoy Setups - Attack Ultimate Spots

One of Killjoy’s key abilities is her ultimate which allows her to force enemies out to obtain control and space. Her ultimate is superior when taking a site, It is a free card to plant the spike in most cases. However, you do need to consider where you are going to place your ultimate as it has a certain range which if placed improperly will not benefit you as much. Here are the most common ultimate spots for killjoy on the attacking side:

A Site:

Your Killjoy ultimate will be an extraordinary piece to execute A site. All you need to do is get to pipes safely. There, you only need to place your ultimate and wait for it.

Look how it leaves a little spot on the right side of rafters, where you can potentially molly to make sure nobody lives out of your ultimate on site.

B Site:

For B site all you need to do is get to B main and place it as shown in the picture.

You most importantly require smokes for this execute, as without smokes you’re still exposed to snow man and anyone on tube mid which could catch you off guard.

Other than that, it’s a perfect suit to push B site.
