GTA 6 Crunch Claims Addressed by Rockstar Insider

As Grand Theft Auto VI gets closer to launch, people are starting to talk about possible crunch behind the scenes.
The game is set for November 19, 2026, and after a couple of delays, things are moving forward fast. Strauss Zelnick has already said he’s confident in that date and teased that marketing will kick off soon.
At the same time, some claims online suggest developers might be working long hours to get everything done.
One post got everyone talking
Most of the discussion came from a Glassdoor review that popped up online. It claimed to be from a QA tester at Rockstar’s Bengaluru studio.
The post said people were staying up until 3 AM and dealing with tight deadlines, trying to finish work that would normally take months in a much shorter time.
The problem is, it’s completely anonymous, so no one really knows if it’s legit.
Insider says it might not be what it sounds like
A YouTuber known as Kiwi Talkz responded after fans asked about it.
His take was pretty simple. He said what people are calling crunch might actually be normal working hours in some places, especially in India where long shifts are more common.
He also mentioned he knows people working at Rockstar India and plans to visit them soon, which added a bit more context to his comments.
Fans are still confused
A lot of players are questioning the timing. The game has already been delayed twice, so people expected things to be more stable by now.
There were also reports not long ago about layoffs at Rockstar Games, which could mean more pressure on the remaining team.
It’s likely this topic will come up again when Take-Two Interactive shares more updates later on.
Crunch has always been part of big releases
This isn’t the first time Rockstar has faced crunch talk. During Red Dead Redemption 2, there were reports of extremely long work weeks too.
With GTA 6 being such a huge release, the pressure is obviously there. The real question is how much of what’s being said right now is actually true.
