All New Characters in Overwatch 2
On the 4th of October, Overwatch 2 was officially released. We first learned about the second part of Overwatch in November 2019. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, the game's release was delayed. Still, at the beginning of October, fans of the game managed to try it, as Blizzard opened early access to Overwatch 2.
Not without the new heroes that came in Overwatch 2. Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko are three of them. Let's take a closer look at them.
Kiriko is a ninja healer who is aided by her kitsune spirit. She has a strong healing spell, "Healing Ofuda." She throws special cards at her allies that heal them. Kiriko can release one card at a time as well as burst fire. Overall it's a good healing ability that can save her teammates. The passive ability of Kiriko, "Wall Climb," allows her to Jump at walls to climb up them.
Kiriko has the "Kunai" ability, Thrown projectile that deals increased critical damage on secondary fire. The "Swift Step" allows Kiriko to teleport to an ally, even through walls. The max. range of this spell is 35 meters, the cooldown is seven seconds. Sounds pretty good, but be careful because Swift Step has a brief casting animation that can be interrupted.
The "Protection Suzu" spell finally gives a chance to be immortal. Kiriko can give her team 0.5 seconds of invulnerability. The ultimate ability, "Kitsune Rush," creates the fox spirit.
As a former Overwatch Captain, Sojourn fields abilities designed to plan, lead, and execute strikes on her opposition. Sojourn offers a unique mid-range gameplay experience and a kit packed with some incredible mobility and artillery.
As you might have understood from the role of this hero, Sojourn has the task of dealing as much damage to opponents as possible. To do this, she has abilities such as: "Railgun, Secondary Fire, and Disruptor Shot." The "Power Slide" is rocket-powered slide that can be cancelled into a high leap at any time by jumping.
The ultimate ability, "Overclock," gives you a Railgun energy auto-charges for a short duration and charged shots pierce enemies.
Junker Queen’s playstyle and kit were built from her pre-existing Overwatch lore. The Junkertown map showcases her tough, almost brutal, personality, and we wanted her abilities and playstyle to match that energy. This type of design—constructing a character’s kit to match their established identity—is called top-down design.
The passive ability of Junker, "Adrenaline Rush," heals her from all damage over time dealt by wounds. "Scattergun" is a strong pump action shotgun, which has six ammo (10 pellets per shot).
The "Jagged Blade" is a way to inflict rapid damage on your opponent and prevent him from carrying out his plan. The "Commanding Shout" is an ability that increases your health and nearby allies, as well as movement speed. "Carnage" swings your axe to wound all enemies in front of you dealing damage over time.
The ultimate ability, "Rampage," is wounding enemies and dealing damage over time to prevent them from being healed.
